WASHINGTON, June 5, 2007 – The problems plaguing the Afghan government cannot be taken on without taking on the problem of poppy production, the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan told Pentagon reporters in a teleconference today.

June 5, 2007 -- Chicago ─ Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan today said that a Coles County man was recently sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) after his guilty plea to Class X methamphetamine conspiracy.
Jeff Mingus of Mattoon was sentenced May 23 in Coles County Circuit Court where he also was fined $10,000 and ordered to pay other costs associated with the conviction. » read more »

On Sunday, May 27, at approximately 5:00 (CT), KVE Special Operations Officer’s conducted a random safety inspection on a tractor trailer north bound on I-65. After talking with the driver, it was determined that further inspection was warranted.
