USDA Declares 13 California Counties Primary Natural Disaster Areas
05/18/2007 -- California Governor Schwarzenegger today applauded the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) decision to designate 13 California counties primary natural disaster areas. San Benito, Fresno, Merced, Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Joaquin, Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Sacramento and Stanislaus counties have been designated primary natural disaster areas by the USDA following the combined effects of drought and prolonged freezing conditions that began October, 2006 and are still continuing. » read more »
Kansas Governor Lifts Remaining County Drought Declarations
Snow, rain alleviates drought in 60 counties under watches or warnings
May 15, 2007 -- Snowstorms in eastern Kansas this winter, coupled with recent heavy rains in the central and eastern portions of the state have increased stream flows and resulted in a dramatic increase in water levels in many reservoirs. Announcement follows declaration of a state of emergency
May 3, 2007 -- TALLAHASSEE, FL – Following the Florida Governor’s official declaration of a state of emergency due to wildfires and drought conditions threatening the State of Florida, Attorney General Bill McCollum today urged Floridians and visitors to take all necessary precautions.
The Attorney General also reminded Florida residents that the price gouging hotline has been activated and encouraged citizens to contact the Attorney General’s Office if they suspect they are the victims of price gouging or fraud. » read more »
