Six Additional Arkansas Counties Added To List Of Disaster Declarations
Apr 10, 2008 -- LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe today declared Clark, Cleburne, Jefferson, Lee, Mississippi and Phillips Counties state disaster areas due to damage caused by severe storms and heavy rains on April 3 and 4.
These six counties will be added to the previous disaster declarations of recent weeks, bringing the total number of declared counties since to 52.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) teams are wrapping up their damage assessments from last week's storms and determining federal aid for affected counties and individual victims. » read more »

These two counties will be added to the previous disaster declarations of recent weeks, bringing the total number of declared counties to 46.

Apr 7, 2008 -- LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe today declared Arkansas, Garland, Pulaski, St. Francis and Saline Counties state disaster areas due to damage caused by severe storms and heavy rains on April 3 and 4.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has informed Arkansas that requests for federal assistance related to the latest storms can be grouped with requests already made regarding recent flooding.

Texas Governor Perry Renews Disaster Proclamation Due to Ongoing Wildfires Across Texas
Adds 32 counties to list of areas threatened by fires
Feb. 29, 2008 -- AUSTIN – Texas Governor Rick Perry today renewed a disaster proclamation, originally issued Jan. 29, to address the threat of wildfires across the state. In the updated proclamation, 32 additional counties are identified as threatened or impacted by wildfires, making a total of 216 counties at risk. To date, fires have burned more than 500,000 acres and threatened 2,158 homes, destroyed 50 homes and damaged 35 homes. » read more »
Tennessee Governor Bredesen Announces Eight Additional Counties Approved For Federal Disaster Aid
02/12/2008 -- Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that the federal government has authorized a major disaster declaration for eight additional Tennessee counties. Benton, Hickman, Houston, Lewis, Montgomery, Perry, Trousdale and Williamson will receive federal funding to assist individuals and businesses affected by the tornadoes last Tuesday.

Bush, Texas Governor Rick Perry today requested a Presidential Disaster Declaration for the State of Texas as a result of widespread wildfires and continuing fire danger across the state.
