Detroit Tigers Trim 12 Players from Major League Camp
03/12/2008 -- The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has optioned the contracts of right-handed pitcher Armando Galarraga and left-handed pitcher Macay McBride to Triple-A Toledo and right-handed pitcher Rick Porcello to Single-A Lakeland. Additionally, the club assigned right-handed pitcher Jeff Gerbe, catchers Joe Bowen, Dusty Ryan and James Skelton, infielders Jeff Larish and Danny Worth and outfielders Matt Joyce, Wilkin Ramirez and Clete Thomas to Minor League camp.
Following today's roster reduction, the Tigers now have 46 players remaining in Major League camp.

Detroit Tigers Agree to Terms on Five-Year Contract with Curtis Granderson
02/04/2008, DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has agreed to terms on a five-year contract, with a club option for the 2013 season, with outfielder Curtis Granderson.
Curtis Granderson hit .302 (185-for-612) with 122 runs scored, 38 doubles, 23 triples, 23 home runs, 74 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 158 games for the Tigers in 2007. He led the American League with 23 triples, while he finished third with 122 runs scored and 84 extra-base hits, fourth with 338 total bases and sixth with a .552 slugging percentage. » read more »

Founded in 1986, B.A.T. is dedicated to assisting members of the baseball family through financial grants, healthcare programs and rehabilitative counseling. Detroit Tigers Agree to Terms with Marcus Thames
01/17/2008, DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with outfielder Marcus Thames, thus avoiding arbitration.
Marcus Thames saw action in 86 games with the Detroit Tigers in 2007, batting .242 (65-for-269) with 15 doubles, 18 home runs and 54 RBI. He hit .315 (23-for-73) with runners in scoring position last season. » read more »
