October 15, 2007 -- AUSTIN -- Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today charged the developer of Tierra Linda Garden, a subdivision in Cameron County, with violating the state’s colonia-prevention laws. According to court documents filed by the state, Manuel J. October 12, 2007 -- New York Governor Eliot Spitzer today renewed his call for the State Senate to pass Wick’s Law reform legislation it agreed to in June. Reforming the Wicks Law would cut public construction costs and lower New York property taxes, and is widely acknowledged as action critically needed to improve New York's business climate. New Jersey Governor Issues Executive Order Regarding Prevailing Wage For Building Services
September 27, 2007 -- TRENTON - New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine today signed an executive order regarding prevailing wage requirements for contractors who provide building services for State-leased government buildings.
The executive order ensures that prevailing wage requirements apply to situations where the State is a tenant in the building but the building owner, rather than the State, contracts for the provision of building services.

September 28, 2007 -- BOSTON – Two Marshfield men have been indicted on charges they ran two schemes to steal more than $250,000 from the state while hauling construction materials as subcontractors on the Central Artery/Tunnel project. James Roderick, Sr., age 61, owner of now-defunct Y2Krush Corp. and James Roderick, Jr., age 37, owner of Durod Ltd., all of Marshfield, were each charged with larceny over $250 by continuous scheme (2 counts), fraud in procurement, presentation of false claims, and conspiracy (3 counts). » read more »

September 4, 2007 -- Springfield, Mo. — A Springfield manufactured homes dealer has been ordered to refund $110,925 to consumers after accepting payment from customers for homes but failing to deliver them as promised under an amended preliminary injunction obtained today by Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon. Today’s court order in Green County Circuit Court is against Michael Jackson, who does business as Dogwood Homes, and Kay Jackson, who works for the business. » read more »
