San Diego Padres to Recognize Wildfire Survivors and First Responders

San Diego Padres providing free tickets to Friday's exhibition game to those who lost homes; Players and coaches will wear caps from first-response organizations

SAN DIEGO, 03/25/2008 -- The San Diego Padres today announced plans to recognize survivors and first responders from last fall's wildfires prior to their exhibition game Friday, March 28 (7:05 p.m. vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim).

The Padres are providing free tickets to individuals and families whose homes were lost or significantly damaged during the October 2007 devastation. Individuals from the approximately 1,500 households affected can still pick up Fire Recovery Night ticket vouchers from their local long-term assistance center.    » read more »

Money will go towards refurbishing and upkeep of emergency shelter

10/23/2007, ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers pitcher Kameron Loe and the Dallas Sales Office donated $24,500 to Jonathan's Place, an emergency shelter and Foster Family Program in Northeast Dallas County.

Dontrelle Willis to Host "Weekend With The D-Train" to Benefit the Children's Home Society

10/17/2007 -- The "D-Train" Dontrelle Willis is set to host two events this weekend to benefit the Children's Home Society.

SATURDAY, Oct. 20: Day With The D-Train: Willis will host 30 children from the Children's Home Society for a shopping spree at NIKETOWN Miami at The Shops at Sunset Place, followed by lunch and games at GameWorks. Each child will receive a $200 gift card to NIKETOWN, lunch and unlimited gameplay at GameWorks and a commemorative "Day With The D-Train" t-shirt.
