Big Ten Network Unveils College Ice Hockey Schedule

First-year network to televise 13 games this winter

September 21, 2007, CHICAGO – The Big Ten Network will televise 13 men's ice hockey games this winter, featuring Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship to Feature 16 Pre-Determined First- and Second-Round Sites Beginning in 2009

Ron English Named Director of the Division I Men's Basketball Championship

Thursday, September 20, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS -- Ron English, a 22-year veteran of athletics administration, has accepted the position as the Director of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. He will officially begin his duties on October 15.

English, who has served the Ohio Valley Conference for the past 15 years, most recently as senior associate commissioner for operations and chief operating officer, will direct game operations for all rounds of the championship and will serve as the primary liaison for tournament managers at each site.    » read more »

2008 Men's Frozen Four: Tickets for Division I Men's Ice Hockey Regionals to Go on Sale

Thursday, September 20, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS --- The NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Committee announced dates and times for the start of ticket sales for the 2008 regionals. All regional tickets are being sold as a three-game package from the first sale date at each site through March 23. It is anticipated that the regional sites will be sold out, but if any of the four sites are not sold out by March 23, tickets will be available for individual sessions at an increased ticket price.    » read more »

NCAA Issues Decision on Jerrell Powe's Initial Eligibility

Tuesday, August 28, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS --- The NCAA staff has partially approved an initial eligibility waiver for football prospective student-athlete Jerrell Powe. With this decision, Powe will be allowed to receive athletically related financial aid to attend classes. However, he will be ineligible for practice and competition until meeting NCAA and institutional academic requirements in college. The purpose of athletics certification is to ensure integrity in the institution’s athletics program and to assist institutions in improving their athletics departments. NCAA legislation mandating athletics certification was adopted in 1993.    » read more »
