02.12.2008 -- CBS Sports today announced a comprehensive reorganization of its college sports operations, incorporating the cable, broadcast and online activities of College Sports Television (CSTV) into its world-famous brand.

Effective March 2008, CSTV will become the CBS COLLEGE SPORTS NETWORK, bringing the power of the CBS SPORTS name to yet another developing, cross-platform property. CBS Sports to Air NCAA Fall Seasonal Show on Saturday, December 29

Thursday, December 20, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS---For the fifth consecutive year, all 88 National Collegiate Athletic Association championships will receive television exposure, including 10 fall sports to be featured in a one-hour special.

“CBS Sports Presents Championships of the NCAA” will air at 3 p.m. Eastern time Saturday, December 29, on CBS Sports. Highlights and stories from cross country, field hockey, soccer and volleyball will be featured in the program. Thursday, November 29, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS -- The Executive Committee of the Faculty Athletics Representatives Association voted earlier this month at their convention in Baltimore to unanimously support Division I academic reform.

NCAA Responds to Recent Media Reports Regarding Initial Eligibility of Iowa State Freshman

Wednesday, November 7, 2007 -- Recent media reports from the Des Moines Register and other outlets regarding the initial eligibility of Iowa State freshman Lucca Staiger are inaccurate.

In these press reports, it has been stated that Iowa State has filed an appeal with the NCAA regarding this student-athlete. This is not accurate. In fact, the NCAA did not receive the facts of the case from the school until yesterday (Tuesday, November 6). The NCAA is now reviewing these facts and has not yet issued a decision. Monday, November 5, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Honors Committee has named 1st Lt. Emily Perez and Major Doug Zembiec as posthumous recipients of the 2008 Award of Valor and chose James MacLaren as the 2008 Inspiration Award winner.

The U.S. Military Academy’s Perez and the U.S. Naval Academy’s Zembiec, who are both deceased, and Yale University’s MacLauren will be recognized during the 2008 Honors Celebration in January at the NCAA Convention in Nashville.    » read more »

NCAA Resolves Indiana University of Pennsylvania Infractions Case Through Summary Disposition

Tuesday, October 30, 2007, INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division II Committee on Infractions has penalized Indiana University of Pennsylvania for major violations in its men’s basketball and men’s and women’s swimming program. The violations include two charges of unethical conduct, a failure to monitor and impermissible benefits.

Penalties for the violations include placing the university on probation for two years; reducing the number of scholarships for both programs; a vacation of select swimming records; and placing the former head swimming coach on a two-year show cause order.    » read more »
