08/12/2007, CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cleveland Indians today broke the 2 million mark in tickets sold this season for the 13th time in franchise history (first since 2005). It also marks the earliest point to reach the two million plateau in a season since 2002.

MLB: New York Yankees Crush Cleveland Indians
12 August 2007 -- New York slugger Alex Rodriguez hit a pair of two-run home runs Saturday to lead the Yankees to an 11-2 win over the Cleveland Indians in a Major League Baseball matchup.
Rodriguez leads the majors with 39 homers.
Pitcher Mike Mussina earned his 100th win as a Yankee, becoming only the ninth pitcher in the majors to win at least 100 games for two teams. He had 147 wins with the Baltimore Orioles, before coming to New York. » read more »

Toronto Blue Jays Claim Hector Luna Off Waivers
Infielder appeared in 260 big-league games over four seasons
08/03/2007 -- The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed INF Hector Luna off waivers from the Cleveland Indians.
Luna, 27, spent the 2007 season with Tiple-A Buffalo of the International League. In 83 games, he batted .251 (81-323) with 18 doubles, six home runs and 35 RBI. The Dominican Republic native has appeared in 260 major league games over four seasons with St. Louis and Cleveland.
The 6'1", 190 lb. right-handed hitter has a career average of .276 with 10 home runs and 78 RBI.

The contribution will go toward a permanent memorial and other refurbishments at the newly named "Bluffton University Memorial Field," which will honor the 2007 team and those who lost their lives in the March 2nd bus accident that occurred as they were traveling to a game. » read more »
