08/21/2007, CHICAGO -- Prior to tonight's game vs. Kansas City Royals, the Chicago White Sox placed infielder Alex Cintron on the Major League bereavement list and recalled infielder/outfielder Andy Gonzalez from Class AAA Charlotte.

Chicago White Sox Sign Jermaine Dye to Two-Year Extension

08/18/2007, SEATTLE -- The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with outfielder Jermaine Dye on a two-year, $22-million contract extension through the 2009 season with a mutual option for 2010.

Under terms of the agreement, Jermaine Dye will receive $9.5 million in 2008 and $11.5 million in 2009. The mutual option pays Dye $12 million for the 2010 season (or a $1 million buyout).    » read more »

Chicago White Sox Purchase Contract of Outfielder Luis Terrero from Triple-A Charlotte

CHICAGO -- Prior to tonight's game vs. the Seattle Mariners, the Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of outfielder Luis Terrero from Class AAA Charlotte.

Luis Terrero, 26, is hitting .231 (15-65) with four doubles, four home runs and nine RBI in 20 games with the Knights this season. He will wear uniform No. 30.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder split the 2006 season between Baltimore and Class AAA Ottawa. He appeared in 27 games with the Orioles, batting .200 (8-40) with one home run and six RBI.    » read more »
