12/03/2007, CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have acquired outfielder Carlos Quentin from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for minor-league first baseman Chris Carter. The White Sox also have designated left-handed pitcher Heath Phillips for assignment.
Carlos Quentin, 25, batted .214 (49-229) with 16 doubles, five home runs and 31 RBI in 81 games with Arizona in 2007 and .348 (40-115) with four homers and 27 RBI in 33 games with Class AAA Tucson. He hit two home runs and drove in five on May 21 vs. Colorado. » read more »

10/26/2007, CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have outrighted right-handed pitcher Ryan Bukvich to Class AAA Charlotte, and reinstated infielders Joe Crede and Pablo Ozuna from the 60-day disabled list. Bukvich will become a free agent.
Bukvich, 29, went 1-0 with a 5.05 ERA (20 ER/35.2 IP) in 45 relief appearances with the White Sox in 2007. He was signed by the Sox as a free agent on November 20, 2006. » read more »

Cox, 51, brings 35 years of experience in professional baseball as a player, coach and manager, including six as a third base coach at the major-league level. It is the club's first opening day on the road since 2004. The Sox open their 18th season at U.S. Cellular Field against the Minnesota Twins (April 7, 9 and 10).
