In Afghanistan, an Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II conducted a show of force over a compound suspected to contain a high ranking Taliban leader in Qarah Bagh. The ground commander who ordered the show of force said the intent was met. The A-10 remained overhead while ground forces entered the compound.    » read more »

In Afghanistan, Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles dropped guided bomb unit-12s on enemy targets. The weapons impacted their targets.

In Afghanistan, a Royal Air Force GR-9 Harrier dropped general purpose 500- and 540-pound bombs on buildings in Kajaki Dam. After the initial drop, coalition forces were still receiving fire from the buildings. There were no more reports of small-arms fire after the second drop.    » read more »

In Afghanistan, Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles conducted a show of force launching multiple flares to deter insurgent activity around coalition forces moving through Qal'eh-Ye Gaz. The on-scene joint terminal attack controller, or JTAC, called the show-of-force pass effective. The aircrews also escorted a large convoy in the area.    » read more »
