7/4/2007 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- Coalition airpower supported Coalition ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations July 3, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.
In Afghanistan, U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs strafed enemies hiding in a field with cannon rounds in Qalat. The Joint Terminal Attack Controller reported the rounds found their targets. In Afghanistan, Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs conducted shows of force over two convoys in Jalalabad. One of the convoys was under fire from insurgents, while the other was disarming an improvised explosive device.
Also in Jalalabad, Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles destroyed an enemy with guided bomb unit-31s and 12s. » read more »

In Afghanistan, a U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II dropped a GBU-12 on a cave being used by insurgents near Qalat. The cave was destroyed by the weapon. Afterward, the pilot provided a show of force for a convoy with a disabled vehicle. The A-10s also provided overwatch for ground forces in the area. » read more »

In Afghanistan, an F-15E Strike Eagle dropped guided bomb unit-38s and conducted a show of force near Asadabad. An on-scene joint terminal attack controller informed the pilot that coalition forces were taking mortar fire from a cave in the vicinity prior to the strike. In Afghanistan, an Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II fired 30mm cannon rounds and conducted a show of force on insurgents firing on coalition forces from a tree line near Delaram.
