In Afghanistan, Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs destroyed a mortar firing position and a building in Now Zad with a general-purpose 500 pound bomb and a Guided Bomb Unit-12. In Afghanistan, an Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II dropped a guided bomb unit-12 on an enemy position in the vicinity of Jalalabad.

Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles provided overwatch for convoys and a ground commander. The aircrews also searched a compound for signs of an explosion near Gereshk.    » read more »

8/19/2007 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- Coalition airpower supported coalition ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in operations Aug. 18, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

In Afghanistan, Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles strafed an enemy firing position with cannon rounds in Tarin Kowt. Enemy firing stopped after the strafing pass. The aircrews also performed numerous shows of force to stop other enemy attacks in the area.

In Afghanistan, an Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle conducted a show of force with flares to stop enemies from firing on coalition forces near Kajaki Dam.

Royal Air Force Harrier GR-7As fired rockets at an enemy compound in Kajaki Dam. The attacks were reported as successful by the joint terminal attack controller.    » read more »
