'Transformers' Director Michael Bay Testifies at Phil Spector Murder Trial

07 August 2007 -- The director of the current screen blockbuster Transformers testified August 6 at the murder trial of Phil Spector.

Prosecutors called Michael Bay as a rebuttal witness at the trial of the famous music producer, who stands accused of fatally shooting actress Lana Clarkson in February, 2003.

A defense witness had earlier testified that Clarkson was distraught over an encounter with Bay at a party about 10 days before she was found dead at Spector's home. Spector's attorneys contend it indicated depression, which culminated in her suicide.    » read more »

06 August 2007 -- 63-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has announced that he's writing a book about his rock and roll life with author James Fox. Paramount Pictures Selects Colorado As Location For New Eddie Murphy Film

Aug. 1, 2007 -- Colorado Governor Bill Ritter announced today that Paramount Pictures’ new film Nowhereland will be filmed in Denver later this year. Nowhereland is produced by Paramount Pictures and Di Bonaventura Pictures and stars Eddie Murphy.

“We are pleased to be hosting this production from Paramount Pictures and we are excited about the producer’s decision to make Denver a major part of this film,” Gov. Remy Ma: Rapper Remy Ma Pleads Not Guilty to Attempted Murder

17 July 2007 -- Remy Ma has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other counts in the shooting of a woman in Manhattan's trendy meatpacking district.

At the Grammy-nominated rapper's July 15 arraignment, the judge set bail at $250,000. Remy Ma - real name Reminisce Smith - remains jailed while the judge reviewed her bail offer.

Late on July 14, police found a woman with a gunshot wound to her lower abdomen. Three blocks away, officers found a luxury SUV registered to Remy Ma. The vehicle had been abandoned after being involved in a single-car accident.    » read more »

10 July 2007 -- Avril Lavigne has fired back at two songwriters' claims that she plagiarized their work.

In a lawsuit filed last week, Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer of the pop-rock band The Rubinoos alleged that Lavigne's single "Girlfriend" closely resembles their 1978 single "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend."

Posting July 6 on her web site, Lavigne wrote that the suit has no merit. "I had never heard this song in my life and their claim is based on five words! All songs share similar lyrics and emotions. As humans we speak one language," she wrote.    » read more »

Tom Sizemore: Judge Dramatically Reduces Actor Sizemore's Sentence for Probation Violation

27 June 2007 -- Tom Sizemore's sentence for violating probation in a drug case has been dramatically cut.

In a June 26 decision, California Superior Court Judge Cynthia Rayvis gave the actor 213 days of credit for time he has already spent in jail and two live-in drug treatment programs. It leaves him with about nine months in state prison.    » read more »
