Paris Hilton Postpones Rwanda Trip
26 October 2007, Washington (By Ray McDonald) -- Paris Hilton's philanthropic trip to Rwanda has been postponed.
"Due to the restructuring of the Playing For Good Foundation, the philanthropic trip to Rwanda that the foundation had previously planned with Paris Hilton has been postponed," the children's charity said in an October 25 statement.
A staffer for the organization's spokesman Andy Gelb said he was unavailable for comment. The 26-year-old socialite, who has promised to use her celebrity status for good causes, was to have traveled to the central African nation in November. » read more »

26 October 2007, Washington (By Ray McDonald) -- Singer and actor Robert Goulet is heavily sedated and breathing through a ventilator while awaiting a lung transplant in a Los Angeles hospital.
Speaking on October 23 to the Associated Press, his wife Vera said "He can hear me but he can't respond." She said doctors told her that lung transplants carry an 88 percent success rate, the highest of any transplant procedure. Brown, born Inga Marchand, has been isolated and confined to her cell for 23 hours each day, said Stephen Morello, deputy commissioner for public information for the New York Department of Corrections. "My body was turning on me," Winfrey, 53, says in the October issue of O, the Oprah Magazine. "First hyperthyroidism, which sped up my metabolism and left me unable to sleep for days. Most people lose weight. I didn't."
