03.31.2008 -- Last.fm announced today that it is sponsoring a new music category in Mozilla's Extend Firefox 3 contest. As part of the contest, which encourages Web developers to create innovative extensions or add-ons for the forthcoming major update to the Firefox Web browser, Last.fm will be judging entries and will award the best music-related extension entry.

Last.fm Names F. Scott Woods Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Germany
03.27.2008 -- Last.fm, the online music discovery network owned by the CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS), announced today that F. Scott Woods has been named Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Germany. Woods, who joins Last.fm from Google where he served as Head of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development, Northern and Central Europe, will oversee the expansion of the Last.fm presence in Germany, the country with the second largest Last.fm userbase after the U.S.
Woods will help set up a permanent Last.fm office in Hamburg, where he will manage all marketing, advertising sales and business development partnerships inside Germany and Northern Europe, as well as work with Last.fm's established German PR firm on communications opportunities. » read more »

Britney Spears Appears on CBS TV Sitcom
Washington, 24 March 2008 (By Mary Morningstar) -- Britney Spears made a guest appearance on the March 24 episode of 'How I Met Your Mother.' The CBS sitcom stars Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Jason Segal and Alyson Hannigan.
E! Online reports that Alicia Silverstone was scheduled to appear in the same episode as Britney Spears, but cancelled after learning about Britney Spears' guest spot.
Josh Radnor told People magazine, "It pains me to report that on the first day of the shoot, Britney knew her lines better than I knew mine. She's been great to work with."
People also reports that Britney Spears played the role of a dermatologist's receptionist, who falls for Josh Radnor's character, Ted.

Two CBS Journalists Go Missing in Southern Iraq's Basra
11 February 2008 -- U.S. television network CBS says two of its journalists have gone missing in the southern Iraqi city of Basra.
In a brief statement Monday, CBS says efforts are under way to find the journalists, whose names were not released. The network says it has been in touch with the journalists' families and asked that their privacy be respected.
Reports from Basra quote witnesses as saying about eight gunmen kidnapped the CBS journalists today from the city's Sultan Palace Hotel. » read more »
