Calm Returns to Cameroon, Burkina Faso Following Protests
29 February 2008 -- Soldiers patrolled the streets in Cameroon's two main cities Friday, restoring order after the worst violence the oil-producing country has seen in more than 15 years. Burkina Faso: Floods Recede in Burkina Faso; Thousands Displaced, Crops Destroyed
10 October 2007 -- Burkina Faso is among the many African countries that have been affected by heavy rains and floods over the past few months. Reports say more than 40 people have been killed and nearly 100,000 displaced.

Opposition In Burkina Faso Disappointed By Election Results
13 May 2007 -- Opposition parties in Burkina Faso are disappointed by their poor results in the country's recent parliamentary election. But they say the results are not yet final and that they will contest some of the results. President Blaise Compaore's ruling party won a landslide victory according to the results released Saturday. IMF Executive Board Approves US $9.2 Million PRGF Arrangement for Burkina Faso
April 24, 2007 -- The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a three-year, SDR 6.02 million (about US$9.2 million) arrangement under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) for Burkina Faso, which will support the government's economic reform program for 2007-10. The decision will make available to Burkina Faso an amount equivalent to SDR 0.5 million (about US$0.8 million). » read more »
