MLB: Boston Red Sox Score Six in Ninth to Edge Baltimore Orioles
14 May 2007 -- In Major League Baseball, the Boston Red Sox rallied with six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Baltimore Orioles, 6-5.
The Orioles committed two errors in the ninth, allowing the Red Sox to complete the comeback victory.
Two other American League games also ended with teams winning in the bottom of the ninth.
The Oakland Athletics scored five runs in the ninth inning, capped by Jack Cust's fifth home run in four games, giving the Athletics a 10-7 win over the Cleveland Indians. » read more »
Boston Red Sox Fifth Team in Major League Baseball History to Hit Four Consecutive Homers
04/22/2007 10:01 PM ET -- The Boston Red Sox became just the fifth team in Major League history to hit four consecutive home runs in an inning Sunday night when they accomplished the feat in the third inning vs. the New York Yankees at Fenway Park.
Manny Ramirez, J.D. Drew, Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek all connected with two out off New York's Chase Wright. The previous Boston record was three, accomplished seven times.
Wright is the second pitcher in history to allow four consecutive homers in an inning. The other was Paul Foytack of the Los Angeles Angels in 1963. » read more »
Boston Red Sox Appoint Gary DiSarcina Manager of Single-A Lowell Spinners
BOSTON, 04/20/2007 6:23 PM ET -- The Boston Red Sox today announced the appointment of Gary DiSarcina as the manager of the Single-A Lowell Spinners of the New York Penn League for the 2007 season.
