Game On! to Host Meet & Greet Tuesday at Fenway Park
08/20/2007 -- Game On! at Fenway Park will be the site Tuesday night where fans can meet some of the candidates for President of Red Sox Nation. Nominations closed yesterday, and more than 1,250 fans were nominated.
Among those expected at this first "meet 'n' greet" are such celebrities as Peter Gammons and Sam Horn and such every day fans Rick Swanson, Cyndi Casey, Greg Califiri, Debra DeCristofor, and "Regular Rob" Crawford.

Boston Red Sox Purchase Contract of Outfielder Bobby Kielty from Triple-A Pawtucket
08/18/2007, BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Red Sox today purchased the contract of outfielder Bobby Kielty from Triple-A Pawtucket of the International League.
Bobby Kielty, 31, will be in uniform for Boston's game with Los Angeles on Saturday and will wear #32.
To make room for Kielty, outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury was optioned to Pawtucket, effective after Friday night's game.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays Host Cleveland, Boston and Oakland During the Longest Homestand of the Season
08/16/2007, ST. PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays open a ten-game homestand Friday, Aug. 17 against the Cleveland Indians. This will be the longest homestand of the season, as they will be home through Aug. 26. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays will also be hosting the Boston Red Sox for the second of three visits and the Oakland Athletics also stop by for their first and only stint at Tropicana Field. 13 August 2007 -- The Baltimore Orioles rallied in the late innings Sunday to beat the slumping Boston Red Sox in a key Major League Baseball matchup.
Former Boston star Kevin Millar hit a game-ending three-run home run in the ninth to give the Orioles a 6-3 win. Miguel Tejada tied the game with a homer in the eighth inning.
Boston has lost four of its last six games, and now leads the American League East division by just four games ahead of the New York Yankees. » read more »

• Placed infielder Eric Hinske on the bereavement list. To take Hinske's spot on the active roster, outfielder Brandon Moss has been recalled from Pawtucket.

09 July 2007 -- The Detroit Tigers held off Boston, 6-5, to complete a three-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox, heading into Major League Baseball's All-Star break.
Gary Sheffield hit one of three home runs Sunday off Boston pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, and also had two doubles off the Japanese star.

20 May 2007 -- The Washington Nationals' new baseball field (artist's rendering)The Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves have traded lopsided victories in a Major League Baseball doubleheader.
In the first game Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka earned his sixth win of the season - a 13-3 victory for host Boston. He was helped by four Boston home runs.
Atlanta pitcher John Smoltz then tossed seven shutout innings in the second game, as the Braves routed Boston, 14-0, handing the Red Sox their worst shutout in 17 years.
