Tatitlek Support Services, Inc., Anchorage, Alaska, is being awarded a $319,246,604 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide civilians on the battlefield foreign language specialist role players to support United States Marine Corps pre-deployment training at Twentynine Palms, Calif.
The preponderance of the work will be performed at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Marine Corps Base Twentynine Palms, Calif., and work is expected to be completed Mar. 2013. Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Integrated System Sector, of El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a modified contract for $22,300,005. This action will provide T38, 33 wing assemblies and gear boxes, 15 each. At this time $22,300,005 has been obligated. March 4, 2008 -- PITTSBURGH - The United Steelworkers (USW) today denounced the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for awarding a contract for the construction of Air Force refueling tankers to the European firm, Airbus, and called for its defunding. The contract is worth up to $100 billion, with its value rising to $408 billion over its lifetime. The USW also decried Sen. US Politicians Call for Investigation of Airborne Tanker Contract
04 March 2008 -- The speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives has promised an investigation of a contract to build new airborne tanker planes won by a partnership that includes the European parent of Airbus.
Representative Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, said Monday the deal posed serious questions that Congress must examine thoroughly.
Last week, the U.S. Air Force awarded a $35-billion contract to build 179 new tanker planes to a partnership between the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company and U.S. defense contractor Northrop Grumman. » read more »
