FDA Declares Food From Cloned Animals Safe

15 January 2008 -- A final report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration concludes that meat and milk from cloned cows, pigs, goats and their offspring are safe for American consumers to eat and drink. Opponents, including a number of consumer and animal rights groups, say the FDA was heavily influenced by the biotechnology industry, and failed to consider possible side effects of cloning.    » read more »

Single Company for Amgen Products in New Arrangement

ZUG, Switzerland. (Oct. 4, 2007) -- Amgen, the world's largest biotechnology company and Dompe Biotec, S.p.A., its co-marketing partner in Italy, announced today that they have agreed to combine their current commercial operations with respect to Amgen products under a single company to be called Amgen-Dompe S.p.A.

Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo Joins Effort To Protect Kentucky Farmers

August 27, 2007 -- Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo filed comments today asking the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. to reject a proposed consent decree that would approve Monsanto Company’s acquisition of Delta & Pine Land Company.
