ExxonMobil Launches Cogeneration Facility in Belgium
Antwerp Facility Lowers Operating Costs and Reduces Greenhouse Gas Emissions
March 23, 2009 -- ANTWERP, Belgium -- ExxonMobil today inaugurated its newest high efficiency cogeneration plant at its Antwerp refinery in Belgium. Cogeneration is the simultaneous production of electricity and useful heat or steam used for industrial processes. In addition to generating 125 megawatts, the new plant will reduce Belgium's carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 200,000 tonnes per year, the equivalent of removing about 90,000 cars from Europe’s roads. » read more »
Justine Henin, Maria Sharapova Score Second Wins at Sony Ericsson Tennis Open in Spain
09 November 2007 -- Defending champion Justine Henin of Belgium and former champion Maria Sharapova of Russia have scored wins at the season-ending Sony Ericsson Championships in Madrid, Spain.
Justine Henin, who had previously qualified for the semifinals, did not lose a game in routing Marion Bartoli of France in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. It was the Belgian's third win in round-robin play. Bartoli was a last-minute replacement for American Serena Williams, who pulled out of the event Thursday because of a knee injury. » read more »
Bruce Springsteen Kicks Off North American Tour
Washington, 28 September 2007 -- On September 28, Bruce Springsteen kicked off a North American tour in support of his new album Magic. He launched the 23-date outing in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
After wrapping up concerts in Boston, Massachusetts on November 19, the band will head to Europe where 13 concerts are scheduled in Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, the U.K. and France.
Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" hits record stores on October 2.

Justine Henin Beats Svetlana Kuznetsova to Win US Open
09 September 2007 -- World number one women's tennis player Justine Henin of Belgium has crushed Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova to win the U.S. Open championship in New York.
The top-seeded Justine Henin earned her second U.S. Open title and seventh grand-slam crown with a 6-1, 6-3 victory late Saturday over the fourth seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova - the 2004 champion.
The Belgian now has a 15-2 record all time against the Russian.

05 June 2007 -- World number one women's tennis player Justine Henin of Belgium remains in contention for a fourth French Open title. Henin eliminated American Serena Williams, 6-4, 6-3, Tuesday in Paris to reach the semifinal round.
