New Baseball Stadium Takes Shape in US Capital
08 May 2007 -- These are the opening weeks of the 2007 Major League Baseball season, and by this time next year fans in the nation's capital will be watching their team in a brand new stadium. VOA Sports Editor Parke Brewer recently took a tour of what will be the new home for the Washington Nationals and has a report.

MLB: Tigers Crush Royals
07 May 2007 -- In baseball's major leagues, the Detroit Tigers hit three, two-run home runs in the second inning Sunday on the way to trouncing the Kansas City Royals, 13-4.
Former Kansas City pitcher Chad Durbin earned the win for the defending American League champion Tigers, who have won seven straight games.
In another A.L. contest, Chicago's A.J. Pierzynski hit a two-run homer to tie the game in the eighth inning against the Los Angeles Angels, then drove home the go-ahead run in the 10th to give the visiting White Sox a 4-3 win. » read more »
All-Star Balloting Begins at Pittsburgh Pirates' PNC Park
05/01/2007 11:16 AM ET -- All-Star Game balloting for the 78th Major League Baseball All-Star Game, to be held Tuesday, July 10 in San Francisco's AT&T Park, begins today for the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park when the Pirates take on the Chicago Cubs at 7:05 p.m.
Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Pirates and major league players by filling out All-Star Game ballots available throughout PNC Park through June 17, a span of 25 Pirates home games. » read more »

Kansas City Royals Minor League Player Tyrone Wilson Suspended
04/24/2007 4:27 PM ET -- The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Kansas City Royals Minor League player Tyrone Wilson has been suspended for 50 games for failure to take a drug test, a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension will be effective on June 23rd, the date of the first game of the season for the Arizona League Royals.

Cubs Statement on Chicago Cubs Legend Ron Santo

He feels fine and remains hospitalized for follow-up tests and observation.
His spirits are high and he is looking forward to his return.
