Presenters across the state are offering free show tickets as a part of Free Night of Theatre
October 4, 2007, COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina venues participating in Free Night of Theatre will begin reserving tickets Oct. 4. To reserve free tickets, visit Performing Arts and click on the Free Night of Theatre logo. Then click "Find a Show" and choose either Charleston, S.C., for performances in that area, or South Carolina for performances in other locations.

West Virginia Independence Hall to Host Fall Festival
Oct. 2007 -- West Virginia Independence Hall Museum in downtown Wheeling will present a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Activities will go on throughout the day and are free and open to the public.

Celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month in October

NAHM has been celebrated since 1993 and provides a great reminder for people to participate in the arts offered in their communities.

West Virginia Juried Exhibition 2007 to Open Oct. 19 at the Parkersburg Art Center
October 2007 -- West Virginia artists and craftspeople will be presented with 16 awards totaling $29,000 in a ceremony on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Parkersburg Art Center, 725 Market St., Parkersburg. The ceremony, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., will precede the opening of the West Virginia Juried Exhibition 2007, which features works in the areas of painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, photography, mixed media and crafts by 64 artists. Cultural Funding Supports Organizations, Communities and Education in Massachusetts
September 25, 2007 -- The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) today announced nearly $8 million in new funding for organizations, communities, and schools across the Commonwealth. These grants support arts and culture in public education, stimulate economic activity, and expand access to the arts, humanities, and sciences in every community in Massachusetts.
In July the Massachusetts Legislature ratified a budget that boosted the MCC’s appropriation by $147,000, to $12.3 million. This small increase has allowed the MCC to maintain level funding for its core grant programs. » read more »
