13 November 2007 -- The soaring price of oil is creating even greater pressure for energy companies and researchers to develop biofuels and other alternatives to take its place. The Caribbean nation of Haiti is looking to a small shrub called jatropha to cut its reliance on oil and charcoal, and to expand economic opportunities to poor communities. Connecticut Governor Rell: State Fuel Station to Pump Ethanol
October 2, 2007 -- Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell today announced plans for the conversion of one of two existing 10,000 gallon underground tanks at the state-run garage on Buckingham Street in Hartford from unleaded gasoline to E-85 ethanol. The conversion should be completed by the end of October.
“We continue to move Connecticut toward cleaner air and cleaner fuel,” Governor Rell said. “With today’s fuel prices, any way the state can diversify its fuel consumption will mean saving taxpayers money as well as improving our environment. » read more »
Sens. Biden, Carper Announce $10 Million for Delaware's Roadways, Housing, Rail, Alternative Fuels, Child and Elderly Projects
WASHINGTON (Sept. 12, 2007) – More than $10.6 million in federal funding for essential Delaware transportation and housing projects passed the Senate today, according to Sens. Joe Biden and Tom Carper (both D-Del.).
