Alcohol-Containing Energy Drinks Mistakenly Sold to Kentucky Minors

June 08, 2007 -- Store clerks regularly mistake alcohol-containing energy drinks with similar non-alcoholic beverages and inadvertently, but illegally, sell them to minors, an investigation by the Kentucky Office of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has found.

Investigators from the ABC’s Enforcement Division recently noted that store clerks, apparently confused by the similarities in packaging, often do not recognize that they are selling an alcohol-containing beverage when they ring up a purchase of the energy drinks.    » read more »

31 May 2007 -- Lindsay Lohan's estranged father says the actress has multiple addictions, including alcohol and the painkiller OxyContin.

Speaking to E! Online, Michael Lohan said he spoke to staff members at her latest rehabilitation facility, and is confident they are providing her with proper care.

The 20-year-old actress checked into a facility on May 28, after crashing her car and being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants. This is her second rehab stay this year.    » read more »

30 May 2007 -- Lindsay Lohan's publicist says the actress is back in rehab.

In a May 29 statement, Leslie Sloan Zelnick said the troubled 20-year-old "admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility" on May 28.

The move follows a weekend in which Lohan crashed her Mercedes Benz, was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and was photographed closed-eyed and slumped in the passenger seat of a friend's car.    » read more »
