January 13, 2005 -- (MONTGOMERY)—Attorney General Troy King today asked the Jefferson County Circuit Court to revoke its appointment of a state-paid attorney who represented Bobby Frank Cherry in his appeals of his convictions for the murder of four young girls in the 1963 bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham. Even though he no longer has a client living to represent, the court-appointed lawyer has continued to file a myriad of motions in an attempt to vacate or overturn Cherry's convictions after his death. » read more »
