Boeing Delivers Next-Generation Boeing 737 to Sunwing Airlines of Canada
SEATTLE, July 02, 2008 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] this week delivered a Next-Generation 737-800 to Toronto-based Sunwing Airlines. The third new Next-Generation Boeing 737 to be delivered to Sunwing and the first to be operated on lease from lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG), the airplane is equipped with performance-enhancing Blended Winglets, which improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 4 percent.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner Latest Structure Test a Success
ROME, July 02, 2008 -- Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica company, successfully completed destructive testing on the horizontal stabilizer of the Boeing [NYSE: BA] 787 Dreamliner. The test took place at Alenia's Pomigliano plant in Naples with Boeing engineers and representatives of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in attendance. The stabilizer is made at the Alenia Aeronautica plant at Foggia in Italy's Puglia region. » read more »
China Unveils Jumbo Jet Company
11 May 2008 -- Chinese state media says Beijing has established a company to manufacture passenger jumbo jets.
The Xinhua news agency says the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China was established in Shanghai Sunday.
Xinhua said the company will be responsible for researching, developing, manufacturing and marketing large passenger aircraft.
The news agency said the central government and China's two largest aircraft manufacturing and servicing companies are among the major shareholders.
The company was launched with capital of $2.7 billion.

Boeing Projects $120 Billion Latin America Market for New Commercial Airplanes
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Sept. 26, 2007 -- Boeing [NYSE:BA] forecasts that Latin American airlines will need 1,730 airplanes worth $120 billion over the next 20 years, according to an analysis presented Monday at the Latin America Airfinance Conference in Rio de Janeiro.
Air travel within Latin America will grow 6.6 percent during this period, well above the world average growth of 5 percent -- second only to China's 8.8 percent forecasted growth rate. » read more »

Skin Oil, Ozone Interactions Worsen Air Quality in Airplanes
5-Sep-2007 -- Airline passengers and crews who gripe about poor cabin air quality could have a new culprit to blame: the oils on their skin, hair and clothing. A study in the current issue of ACS’ Environmental Science & Technology suggests interactions between body oils and ozone found in airplane cabins could lead to the formation of chemical byproducts that might worsen nasal irritation, headaches, dry eyes and lips, and other common air traveler complaints. » read more »

TAM order also marks 100th order for the Boeing 777 this year
SEATTLE, Aug. 29, 2007 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] today announced that an order from Brazil's TAM Airlines [BOVESPA: TAMM4 and NYSE: TAM] for four additional 777-300ERs brings to 1,003 the number of 777s ordered since the first order of the popular widebody in 1990. Boeing Executives to Provide Update about 787 Boeing Dreamliner Program
CHICAGO, Aug. 29, 2007 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] will webcast its 787 Dreamliner quarterly media briefing on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
