FEMA Supports Federal Aid to China

May 19, 2008 -- The Department of Defense purchased relief supplies from FEMA to aid earthquake victims in China. Supplies included food, blankets, water containers, generators, lanterns, tarps and tents.

Less than 24 hours after receiving the request from the United States Pacific Command, FEMA had delivered 17 pallets of relief supplies from its Pacific Distribution Center to the 15th Airlift Wing at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii for transport to aid earthquake victims in China.

The supplies were loaded onto an Air Force C-17 Globemaster III cargo plane on Saturday and flown nonstop to Shuangliu International Airport in Chengdu, China. DOD also stocked a second air cargo jet in Alaska with FEMA supplies for delivery to China.

Boeing to Develop Advanced Sensor for Next-Generation Munition

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 05, 2007 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has been awarded a $600,000 U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) contract to develop the Seeker Integrated Target Endgame Sensor (SITES) to help advance Joint Dual Role Air Dominance Missile (JDRADM) technology.

"We believe SITES will help maximize the system's lethality," said David Moos, Boeing program manager for SITES. "This missile seeker will provide sufficient precision targeting to advance JDRADM technology. Boeing to Study Key Elements of Conventional Prompt Global Strike Demonstration

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 27, 2007 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has been awarded an $8.9 million U.S. Air Force contract to study key elements of a conventional prompt global strike missile demonstration.

The study, scheduled to be completed by June 2009, will help plan for a demonstration using a land-based Minotaur launch system and a payload delivery vehicle designed to carry and deliver various conventional payloads at global ranges in less than one hour of flight time. Boeing Bids on Next Generation GPS System for US Air Force

Boeing Awarded U.S. Air Force Contract for Combat Survivor Evader Locator Radios

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 22, 2007 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has been awarded a $107 million U.S. Air Force contract for an additional 15,452 Combat Survivor Evader Locator (CSEL) radios and supporting equipment.

The Air Force's third full-rate production CSEL order includes radio set and adapter spares, rechargeable batteries and battery adapters. The contract calls for delivery of all components by August 2009. To date, Boeing's Anaheim, Calif.-based CSEL team has delivered more than 12,000 CSEL units to the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps.    » read more »
