07-18-2007 -- The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee today officially opened two campaign offices in South Carolina. The offices, which are located in Lexington County and Charleston County, will be home to the day-to-day operations of the campaign staff and serve as the base of operations for volunteer activities in the state. Currently, South Carolina is the only state where the campaign has opened two regional headquarters.

Governor Vetoes $167 Million In An Effort To Rein In Spending

Columbia, S.C. - June 27, 2007 - South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford today vetoed 243 items from the legislature's spending plan, for a total of $167 million that the governor said would be better spent paying down the state's liabilities, or providing for additional tax relief. The governor today also signed off on $220 million in tax relief that he has pushed for throughout the year, but did line item veto two lines contained in the tax-relief appropriations bill.    » read more »
