More than 160 businesses moved to or expanded in New Jersey

September 16, 2009 -- TRENTON - New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced that under his Administration, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) has finalized over $2.4 billion in financing assistance, business incentives and tax credits, and supported nearly 1,330 projects across the state of New Jersey.

More than 160 businesses have taken advantage of EDA programs to move to or expand in New Jersey during the same period of time. The assistance is expected to leverage more than $6 billion in total public/private investment and lead to the creation of an estimated 37,500 permanent jobs and 42,500 construction jobs in the state.    » read more »

Corzine today announced that the number of New Jerseyans without health insurance has decreased by more than 11%, or 147,000 individuals, the second largest reduction in the nation between 2007 and 2008. July 1, 2009 – Newark, NJ - Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) today received approval to invest an additional $190 million to bring energy efficiency measures to residential customers, multi-family affordable housing units, municipal buildings and businesses such as cash-strapped hospitals.

New Jersey University Hospital to Pay Additional $2 Million to Resolve Fraud Claims That Facility Double Billed Medicaid

June 9, 2009 -- WASHINGTON - The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) has agreed to pay the United States $2 million to resolve federal civil fraud allegations that its hospital defrauded Medicaid, the Justice Department announced today.

From 1993 to 2004, UMDNJ’s University Hospital submitted claims to Medicaid for outpatient physician services that were also being billed by doctors working in the hospital’s outpatient centers.
