Nebraska Cyberstalking Law Takes Effect
August 30, 2007 -- (Lincoln, NE) Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning today recognized Nebraska’s cyberstalking law will go into effect on Sept 1. The law makes it a crime for adults to send sexually explicit material to minors using electronic communication devices, such as computers, e-mails and text messages.

Nebraska Governor Heineman Announces Nebraska Receives Third Disaster Declaration
August 29, 2007 -- (Lincoln, NE) Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman was notified today by Federal Emergency Management Agency officials that President George W. Bush has approved a request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration for parts of Nebraska affected by flooding earlier this summer.
The declaration covers damage resulting from storms during the period of June 11 to 16. The Governor requested the declaration on Aug. 3. The six counties included in the disaster declaration are Arthur, Chase, Dundy, Keith, McPherson, and Perkins Counties. » read more »

The declaration is determined under a state program coordinated by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA).
