Michigan Unemployment Down in 2004; More citizens employed this year

January 19, 2005 – Michigan’s unemployment rate improved in 2004, dropping five-tenths of a point from 7.3 percent to 6.8 percent. 26,000 fewer citizens were unemployed this year and the annual average jobless rate declined for the first time since 2000.
