FPL Customers To Get Fuel Rebate In January
Typical residential customer to receive $44 credit on first bill of new year
November 3, 2009 -- JUNO BEACH, Fla. – Florida Power & Light Company customers will be getting a sizeable rebate on their first bills of 2010 with a one-time fuel charge credit approved by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC).
FPL residential customers using 1,000 kilowatt-hours will receive a credit of $44.46 on their January electric bills. The fuel charge credit would normally have been spread out over the course of 12 months. FPL does not profit on the fuel it buys to generate electricity.

Board also declares 256th consecutive quarterly dividend
October 16, 2009 -- JUNO BEACH, Fla. – FPL Group, Inc. (NYSE: FPL) today announced that William H. Swanson has been appointed to the company’s board of directors. Swanson, 60, is chairman and chief executive officer of Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN).
Swanson’s appointment increases the size of the FPL Group board from 12 to 13 members.

FPL’s DeSoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center in Arcadia, Fla., is expected to begin delivering clean, renewable electricity to customers on Oct. 20 – ahead of schedule and $22.2 million under budget.
