Republican and Former Secretary of State Colin Powell formally announced his endorsement of Barack Obama for President this morning, during a widely-anticipated appearance on NBC's Meet the Press. Here's the interview video:

“As gifted as he is, he [McCain] is essentially going to execute the Republican agenda, the orthodoxy of the Republican agenda, with a new face and a maverick approach to it, and he’d be quite good at it,” Mr. Powell said. “But I think we need a generational change.”

August 11, 2008 -- WOODBRIDGE, N.J.-- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that Mayor Richard J. Gerbounka (Linden, N.J.) has endorsed John McCain for president.

"I am proud to support John McCain for president," said Mayor Gerbounka.

Mayor Gerbounka formally endorsed John McCain in a press conference held today on the steps of Linden City Hall. State Senator Bill Baroni, who serves as the New Jersey Chairman for John McCain's presidential campaign, was on hand to welcome the endorsement.    » read more »

3/25/2008, Philadelphia, PA – The Liberty City Democratic Club, a key LGBT political group in Pennsylvania, overwhelmingly endorsed Hillary Clinton for President with two-thirds of the members voting for her.

2/24/2008, COLUMBUS, OH – Today, Senator Hillary Clinton received the endorsement of the Akron Beacon Journal in the upcoming Ohio presidential primary.

In their endorsement editorial, the Beacon Journal wrote, “the country is best-served by the president with the knowledge, savvy and temperament to push Washington forward… Hillary Clinton is the more proven leader.”
