Disney Channel Announces New Original Comedy Series, "Welcome to Mollywood," Starring Demi Lovato

BURBANK, May 21, 2008 -- Disney Channel has ordered the live-action comedy series, "Welcome to Mollywood" (working title), with rising young star and recording artist Demi Lovato ("As the Bell Rings," "Camp Rock") in the lead role, it was announced today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide.
Marsh said, "Our success is completely driven by the talent we partner with -- in front of and behind the camera. The entire ‘Mollywood’ creative team is the best in the business when it comes to creating break-out kid and family comedy.
