The data reports that Maryland contractors have been awarded a total of $590 million and have directly saved or created approximately 965 private sector jobs. Sen. Reed: $1.75 Million for Providence in Federal Funding for Local Energy Efficiency Projects

October 15, 2009 -- WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) today announced that the City of Providence will receive over $1.75 million in flexible federal funding to improve energy efficiency in residential and municipal buildings. This award is administered by the U.S. Department of Energy under its Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program.

The EECBG program is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which Senator Reed supported.

Menendez: $1.3 Million For NJ Municipalities From His Energy Efficiency Program

October 16, 2009 -- WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) today announced a total of $1,327,800 in funding for four New Jersey municipalities from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program, which he created as part of energy legislation in 2007. The program supports municipal energy-saving initiatives and improves energy efficiency in transportation, buildings, and other sectors. It will deliver a total of $73 million to New Jersey cities, towns and counties through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Sen. Gillibrand Works for ARRA Funds For NY Biodiesel Facility

Project Expected To Create Up To 300 New Jobs In Central New York

October 15, 2009 -- Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today pushed for federal economic recovery dollars for the Auburn Biodiesel Corporation to develop and expand the ports at Oswego and Montezuma, New York, to add new biodiesel capabilities at both locations.

The federal dollars would be allocated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which Senator Gillibrand helped pass earlier this year. $6 Million in ARRA Grants for West Virginia

Oct. 15, 2009 -- CHARLESTON -- West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin, along with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the West Virginia Division of Highways, this week announced the awarding of 26 projects as part of the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act totaling approximately $6.3 million.

These grants will provide West Virginia communities with funding assistance for the design and development of non-traditional projects such as improving safety for pedestrians and bicyclists through the construction of sidewalks and trails.

$12 Million in Rhode Island Recovery Weatherization Funds

Rhode Island Governor Donald L. Carcieri and the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) today issued contracts to the state’s seven regional Community Action Program Agencies (CAP agencies) to distribute $12.2 million for the statewide Weatherization Program, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Pennsylvanian Citizens’ Update on Recovery Act Spending

Oct. 15, 2009 -- Harrisburg – The commonwealth’s first Citizens’ Update on its Recovery Act spending and programs is now available at www.recovery.pa.gov, Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell said today.

The report, produced by the state’s Office of Accountability, provides a user-friendly narrative that expands on the required quarterly federal reports the commonwealth submitted on Oct. 9.
