Washington, D.C. -- October 27, 2009 -- U.S. Senators Bob Casey and Arlen Specter today announced that the U.S. Department of Energy has awarded $233,184,232 to four companies in Pennsylvania to invest in Smart Grid Technology. Federal funding is provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Funding Provided By The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act

October 27, 2009 -- Washington – U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln and U.S. Representative Marion Berry (AR-01) today announced that Woodruff Electric, in Forrest City, Arkansas will receive $2,357,520 in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. October 27, 2009 – Today, Nebraska’s Senator Ben Nelson welcomed an announcement by the U.S. Department of Energy that Nebraska will receive more than $2.2 million to modernize the electric grid in the state. The funding is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

October 27, 2009 -- WASHINGTON, DC - Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today praised the release of $9,188,050 to the Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative, based in Norwich. The grant will be used to build a regional smart meter network infrastructure which includes five municipal utilities and at least 13,000 meters that will allow customers to control their electricity use through time-varying rates and control, communications, and management systems. October 26, 2009 -- NEWARK, DE – Senators Tom Carper and Ted Kaufman (both D-Del.) and Governor Jack Markell, among others, announced today that the State of Delaware has reached the $1 billion mark for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA, a.k.a. ‘stimulus’) funds committed to the State of Delaware.
