August 19, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pvt. Janelle F. King, 23, of Merced, California, died Aug. 14 in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries suffered in a non-combat related incident.
She was assigned to the 115th Combat Support Hospital, Fort Polk, La.
The incident is under investigation.
