DoD Identifies Army Casualty: Staff Sgt. Kristopher D. Rodgers, 29, of Sturgis, Michigan
August 19, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Staff Sgt. Kristopher D. Rodgers, 29, of Sturgis, Michigan, died Aug. 16 in Korengal, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
