World Television Premiere of Comedy Central's "Jimmy Dore: Citizen Jimmy" Debuts Friday, August 1
NEW YORK, July 16, 2008 -- Get ready for an all-new, one-hour stand-up special from the hilarious Jimmy Dore! “Citizen Jimmy” world premieres Friday, August 1 at 11:00 p.m.
Orson Welles had his masterpiece and now Jimmy Dore has his! “Citizen Jimmy” is a new one-hour stand-up special from the weed-philosophizing political commentator Jimmy Dore. Join Dore as he gives the real reason the Clinton sex scandal upset the American public, describes why watching Christian talk shows is dangerous when you’re high and explains the paranoia surrounding The Gap. Plus, Dore makes Al-Qaeda look less scary — by naming a fruity vodka drink after them! It’s going to a wild hour of stand-up viewers won’t want to miss!
Dore is a writer/performer for the critically acclaimed Off Broadway hit, “The Marijuana-logues,” which is currently running at the Actor's Playhouse in New York. It was a role Jimmy first played at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in April of 2003. In addition to taping his “COMEDY CENTRAL Presents” half-hour special, Dore has appeared on many late night talk shows and performed at prestigious comedy festivals such as HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen.
