Walt Disney Pictures' "Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" TV Premiere July 26 on Disney Channel
"Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" Presented In Disney 3-D, Complimentary 3-D Glasses Available at Wal-Mart Stores Nationwide Beginning Saturday, July 5
BURBANK, June 16, 2008 -- Disney Channel will present the television world premiere of Walt Disney Pictures' blockbuster "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" in 3-D on SATURDAY, JULY 26 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT). It will be preceded that day by a marathon of favorite "Hannah Montana" episodes (2:00-8:00 p.m., ET/PT) and a week of rock star-themed storylines each night (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) with a new episode premiering Sunday, July 20 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT). Complimentary 3-D glasses will be available in the "back to school displays" at nationwide Wal-Mart stores beginning Saturday, July 5 (while supplies last).
15-year-old Miley Cyrus completed a sold out 70-date concert tour in February. Walt Disney Pictures' presented the 3-D theatrical release of "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert" in February. Opening in only 683 theaters, the movie grossed over $65 million at the box office during its limited U.S. engagement. The cast of the hit TV series is now filming "Hannah Montana: The Movie," a feature film from Walt Disney Studios, in Nashville. It's due for release in Summer 2009.
In the new "Hannah Montana" episode, "Hannah in the Street with Diamonds," Miley Stewart is thrilled when Hannah is scheduled to receive a Diamond on the Walk of Fame, until its primo location is secretly downgraded at the last minute in favor of a spot for the famous puppet, Pancake Buffalo. So Miley, Lilly and Oliver concoct a plan to expose the deception to the President of the Parade of Diamonds Committee.
Last year the triple-Platinum "Hannah Montana" soundtrack became the first ever TV soundtrack to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Miley Cyrus followed that album with the two-disc set "Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus" that also reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 200, earning double-Platinum status and making her the youngest artist to have two #1 albums in less than a year. Her next album, "Breakout," will be released July 22.
