Glenn Beck Signs New Two-Book Deal with Threshold Editions
Author of the #1 New York Times bestseller AN INCONVENIENT BOOK to publish his first work of fiction in Fall 2008
May 2008 -- Glenn Beck, the phenomenally popular radio and television personality and author of the #1 New York Times bestseller AN INCONVENIENT BOOK, has signed with Threshold Editions to write two new books. Louise Burke, Threshold Editions' Executive Vice President and Publisher, announced today the acquisition or world rights to both books.
THE CHRISTMAS SWEATER, a heartwarming novel of redemption and atonement, will be published in hardcover in Fall 2008. The story will also form the basis for Glenn Beck's 2008 Christmas Show, which will see Beck on a cross-country tour in December telling the story and promoting the book to tens of thousands of fans nationwide.
Beck's last book, AN INCONVENIENT BOOK (Threshold Editions, November 2007) was an instant success, debuting at #1 on the New York Times non-fiction bestseller list and becoming a fixture for months to come on bestseller lists across the country.
Said Louise Burke, "No one works harder or understands his audience better than Glenn Beck. Seeing Glenn's career skyrocket over the past several years has brought me personal and professional joy."
"THE CHRISTMAS SWEATER is the most daring project I've ever been involved with," Beck said. "This story is so personal, and yet it's so powerful that it has to be told. I'm thankful that Threshold is giving me the opportunity to do that, and I look forward to continuing my 5-year relationship with Simon & Schuster."
Vice President and Senior Editor Mitchell Ivers, who has collaborated with Glenn Beck on his previous two books, will edit THE CHRISTMAS SWEATER. The second book, in which Beck returns to non-fiction, will be published in 2009. Glenn Beck's longtime agent, George Hiltzik, brokered the deal.
