NEW YORK, MAY 12, 2008 -- MySpace, MTV sensation and pop culture icon Tila Tequila is teaming up with Scribner, which has acquired world rights to publish her first book, Hooking Up with Tila Tequila. The announcement was made today by Susan Moldow, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Scribner.

To be published in December 2008, Hooking Up with Tila Tequila is the book her fans have been waiting for. Written with her customary verve, humor, and irreverence, the book offers Tila's no-holds-barred thoughts on love, fame, happiness, and success and the remarkable story of how the child of Vietnamese immigrants singlehandedly harnessed the web to become the 21 st century's hottest sex symbol. Filled with never-before-seen color photographs from Tila's private collection, Hooking Up will also feature provocative sidebars on Tila's views like "History's Greatest Bedroom Companions."

Time magazine dubbed Tila Tequila "the Madonna of MySpace" who "grasps the logic of Web 2.0 in a way that would make many CEOs weep." With 3.1 million MySpace friends, she parlayed her web popularity into the smash MTV reality series, "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila" which debuted in October 2007 at number one in its time slot and went on to attract 6.2 million viewers for the finale, making it MTV's most watched telecast.

Brant Rumble, a senior editor at Scribner who will edit the book, negotiated the agreement with literary agents David Vigliano and Michael Harriot of Vigliano Associates.

"The world cannot get enough of Tila Tequila," said Susan Moldow.

Tila said, "One of my many, many dreams and goals has been to write a book. I've spent half of my life writing my thoughts in internet blogs as well as personal journals. Now, for the first time, I finally have the chance to gather them all in my very own book! Yet another life's dream comes true for me! I am excited to give people a chance to get to know the real Tila behind the 'Tequila'."
