18 May 2008 -- Democratic U.S. presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama campaigned hard Sunday as they sought to win over voters ahead of state primary contests this Tuesday in Kentucky and Oregon.
Clinton campaigned in Kentucky, where she is ahead in the polls and has received the endorsement of four former state governors.

She attended a church service in the Bowling Green area before heading to a campaign rally where she pledged to turn around the U.S. economy.
Senator Obama campaigned in Oregon, where he is favored to win the presidential primary. An estimated 75,000 people attended a rally in Portland, where Obama again criticized presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, saying McCain is running for President George Bush's third term. Obama also criticized the Bush administration for its economic and energy policies as well as Iraq.
On the Republican side, McCain's national finance co-chairman, Thomas Loeffler, resigned Sunday because of ties to lobbyists. Loeffler stepped down in the wake of a new McCain policy that required campaign volunteers to disclose their lobbying connections.
