Warner/Chappell Music Named SESAC's “Publisher of the Year” for Sixth Consecutive Year
Grammy Award-Winning Songwriter Nate “Danja” Hills Recognized as “Songwriter of the Year”
05/09/08 -- Warner/Chappell Music, the award-winning publishing arm of Warner Music Group Corp. (NYSE: WMG), and one of the world's largest music publishers, was named ”Publisher of the Year” for the sixth year in a row at SESAC's 12th Annual Music Awards last night in New York City.
Additionally, Warner/Chappell songwriter Nate "Danja" Hills was recognized with his second “Songwriter of the Year” award based on his multiple chart-topping hits in 2007 including SESAC’s Song of the Year, “Say it Right” performed by Nelly Furtado.
Warner/Chappell songwriter Bryan Michael Cox, who last year also received SESAC’s “Songwriter of the Year” award for an unprecedented seventh year in a row, was recognized last night for his hits in 2007 including “Be Without You” performed by Mary J. Blige and “Say Goodbye” performed by Chris Brown.
“The SESAC awards are recognition of the top songs and songwriters in the music industry and we are honored to be awarded Publisher of the Year for the sixth year in a row,” said Dave Johnson, CEO, Warner/Chappell Music. “Our talented songwriters continue to push the boundaries of genre and form with their innovative approaches to the creative process.”

The SESAC awards recognize songwriters, publishers and producers of the top SESAC songs in all genres played on American radio and television.
Warner/Chappell songwriters and producers recognized by SESAC with “National Performance Activity Awards,” for top public performances of their compositions, included Nate “Danja” Hills who co-wrote and co-produced a string of No.1 hits including “Ayo Technology,” recorded by 50 Cent; "Say It Right” and “Promiscuous," recorded by Nelly Furtado; “The Way I Are” and “Give It To Me,” recorded by Timbaland; and “What Goes Around…Comes Around,” “Summer Love,” “Until The End of Time,” “Lovestoned,” “Sexyback,” and “My Love,” recorded by Justin Timberlake. Bryan Michael Cox received awards for “Be Without You,” recorded by Mary J. Blige; “Say Goodbye,” recorded by Chris Brown”; and “Shortie Like Mine,” recorded by Bow Wow. Additionally, Killswitch Engage was also recognized for its composition, “My Curse.”
