Hawaii Governor's Chief Of Staff, Former Transportation Director To Attend U.S. Senate Hearing On Hawaii Air Service
April 8, 2008 -- HONOLULU – Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle today announced that her chief of staff and former director of the state Department of Transportation (DOT), Barry Fukunaga, will attend a U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation hearing on Hawaii’s air service market. The hearing will take place Thursday, April 10, 2:30 p.m. (EDT) in Washington, D.C.

Fukunaga, who has been closely involved in the Lingle-Aiona Administration’s efforts to address the recent closure of Aloha Airlines and ATA Airlines, will provide a full picture of the transportation situation in Hawaii, with a focus on airport services and infrastructure for the future.
Fukunaga served for 25 years with the state DOT Airports Division, including airports manager, airports operations manager and airports services supervisor. He is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives and has served as a director of the Airport Council International – Pacific.
