DoD Identifies Two Army Casualties: Ulises Burgos-Cruz, 29 and Matthew T. Morris, 23
April 07, 2008 -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
They died April 6 in Balad, Iraq, when their vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.
Killed were:
Capt. Ulises Burgos-Cruz, 29, of Puerto Rico, who was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
Spc. Matthew T. Morris, 23, of Cedar Park, Texas, who was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.
