“Today is a victory for the working families of New Jersey and all those who believe that earning a living and caring for a loved one should not be an either/or decision. This legislation recognizes workers should be able to take the time needed to attend to their family responsibilities without being forced into financial jeopardy.
“Employers trust workers with their job responsibilities every day and it is reasonable to trust them with the freedom and flexibility to balance their work and family needs. The financial pressure of dealing with a family in crisis is a circumstance we can insure against.”
